Problems with Exterior Windows and Doors

The principal problems occurring with exterior windows and doors are listed below.

Select the type of problem:

Flaking - lifting of the coating exposing the underlying surface, this is often preceded by cracking of the film

Blistering - a swelling of the film in distinctive 'bubble' shapes, which can occur together with cracking and flaking

Staining - a discolouration of the coating leaving a mottled, uneven colour, but without causing any other damage to the film

Mould growth - organic material growing on or in the coating film
